tEACHING ACTIVITIES

Teaching activities at the ConTeSt Lab are grouped in two main categories:

  1. Lab tests in the framework of undergraduates modules:

  • Construction Materials (4th Semester),

  • Reinforced Concrete Design I (6th Semester), and

  • Experimental Mechanics of Materials (7th Semester)

2. Lab tests in the framework of diploma theses for final-year students

Below you can find a media gallery of the lab's teaching activities

Tests on Reinforced Concrete Beams

Reinforced Concrete Beams are subjected to 4-point bending and different failure modes are observed (flexural or shear failure). Through the lab demonstration, students are able to observe and understand the behaviour of reinforced concrete members until failure. They are also challenged to compare their theoretical predictions with the experimental results and discuss any sources of errors.
